It`s not as hard as you might think. Follow these steps and it should all come right.
Start with the salutation. People like to see their name at the top of the note. If you are on first name terms, use it, otherwise use the correct form of address.
Next say thank you for the ....... “Thank you” is, of course, more formal and “thanks” is casual. It all depends on how well you know the person. When in doubt, use “Thank you”.
If you are writing about a presents say how it looks or how you will use it. If it`s an event, say how much you enjoyed it. People will want to know that you are pleased and happy.
Mention the past, write about the future or say something you have in common with the giver. If you can’t think of anything else, express your hope to see them again.
Say thank you again. It is not overkill to say thank you more than once.
End with an appropriate close – love from, yours sincerely or sincerely, best regards, with kindest regards, etc..jpg)
